What to Expect

Difficulty: intermediate (easy to walk paths with medium slopes), a good physical preparation is required. Average height differences of the treks between 300-600 m. Day 1Arrival in Aosta Valley

Individual arrival in Valle d’Aosta. Check-in at the hotel.
Overnight

Day 2Gran San Bernardo Valley

Meeting with the guide, transfer by private vehicle to the Gran San Bernardo Valley, a historic pass traveled over the centuries by pilgrims, merchants and armies.

Excursion: Colle del Gran San Bernardo (2470 m) – Frassati Refuge (2540 m) – Saint Rhemy en Bosses (1652 m). Difference in height: +400 m / -1100 m – circular route – Total time: 6h Excursion duration: full day

It begins with an itinerary that allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the wildest mountain, crossing small collected valleys, dominated by steep slopes and traces of ancient glaciers. After the Colle des Ceingles at an altitude of 2810 m, a long descent awaits us that crosses disparate environments, rich in bewitching flora. Coffee break in the refuge.

Day 3Ayas Valley / Monte Rosa

Meeting with the guide, transfer to the Ayas Valley at the foot of Monte Rosa with a crowd of over 20 peaks that exceed 4000 m.

Excursion: Saint Jacques (1685 m) – Blue Lake (2220 m) – Ferraro Refuge (2070 m) – Saint Jacques –

As in a dream, the Monte Rosa massif suddenly appears, imposing and majestic, rising from a plateau at over 2000 m. The Blue Lake, housed in a basin, amazes for the color of its waters.

Day 4 & Day 5Free day

Free
Full day available for visits and free excursions. We suggest a visit to the Roman and medieval Aosta, or to one or more of the splendid castles « scattered » throughout the region, or the ascent with the Sky Way cable car up to 3452 m
of Punta Helbronner. Panoramic cabins, rotating at 360 °, so as not to miss any of the splendid spectacle of the entire Mont Blanc chain and the most famous 4000 in Europe. Overnight

Day 6Gran Paradiso National Park

Meeting with the guide, transfer to Rhêmes Notre Dame, in the Gran Paradiso National Park.

Excursion: Thumel (1850 m) – Grand Vaudalaz valley (2300 m) – Benevolo Refuge – Thumel –
Difference in height: 570 m – Total time: 4.30h excluding stops – Ring route – Duration of excursion: full day – Packed lunch.

We enter the oldest national park in Italy, full of wild animals and rare flowers. In the upper part, the route becomes even more panoramic: the view embraces the nearby peaks and glaciers, extending over the valley below.

Day 7Mont Blanc

Meeting with the guide, transfer to Courmayeur, where we will take a shuttle that leads to the beginning of the path.

Excursion: La Vachey (1642 m) – Bonatti Refuge (2025 m) – Ref. Bertone (1991 m) – Courmayeur – circular route. The trekking week ends with an extraordinary route, located in front of the Mont Blanc chain on the edge of the 200 ° meters: from the Bonatti Refuge, reachable in an hour from the valley floor, the route goes halfway up, in view of peaks and glaciers overhanging, cradle of world mountaineering, up to the Bertone Refuge and then down to Courmayeur.
