The natural scenery changes constantly: from meadows and grazing lands to the red rocks surrounding the huts, from the sparkling waters of Saent waterfalls to the alpine lakes of Cevedale…up to the vast and isolated environment of Careser glacier that offers wide views on the most renowned peaks of Ortler Cevedale, Adamello and Brenta Dolomites mountain ranges.
A 6-day self-guided hiking tour among comfortable mountain huts from one peak to the other, but with all the organization and assistance by Campo Base before and during the hike!

LAKES CORVO – transfer by public bus in Val di Rabbi. Across forests of larches and firs the trail leads to some alpine dairies, where in the summer season the farmers are engaged in the milk processing. Beyond the vegetation you enter wide mountain grasslands and with a steadily uphill trail you reach the slopes of Quaira peak. Dinner and overnight stay in hut (2435m). +1012m / -0m / 5km / 4h
COLLECCHIO PEAK – with a succession of glacial lakes you arrive at Collecchio peak (2957m), which is located on the border between Val Montechiesa (South Tyrol) and Val Saent (Trentino). After a scenic stretch on easy ridge, the downhill path runs along the mountain’s coast until it reaches the wide green expanse in the hearth of Val Saent. VAL MARTELLO – surrounded by a barren and stony environment you reach Saent Pass (2965m), which divides Val di Rabbi from Val Martello. From the pass begins the descent into South Tyrol until the grazing lands of Paradiso al Cevedale on the opposite side of Rio Plimbach. FORCOLA GLACIER – the route continues with the crossing Forcola Glacier, noting the signs of its withdrawal especially on the steep final stretch just before Forcola Pass (3032m), where the magnificent panorama opens up on the best-known peaks of Ortler Cevedale. The descent on the opposite side brings back to the region of Trentino and leads at the foot of a crown of peaks over 3500 meters: Cevedale, Zufall, Palon de la Mare and Vioz peaks . CARESER GLACIER – walking across a plateau dotted with numerous alpine lakes you arrive at Lake Careser (2603m). With moderate slopes on rocky terrain you reach the limit of Careser Glacier that will be crossed in about 1h until its eastern edge (3121m), then with a large crossing you descend once again to the green pastures of Val Saent. SAENT WATERFALLS – pleasant and panoramic descent surrounded by marmots and rhododendron flowers. Once overpassed the wide expanse of Pra di Saent, the trail passes between the bridges and the water features of Saent waterfalls, the most majestic in Val di Sole.
