Walk the Camino – The French Way
The French Way, which can be considered as starting in Saint Jean Pied de Port (a small town in the French Basque Country) as well as in Roncesvalles (a small village in the Navarrese Pyrenees), is the best known and busiest of all the Ways of Saint James, with a great difference in the number of pilgrims (more than 85% of the total) compared to the other Ways. It owes its origin to three of the four main historical pilgrimage routes coming from the interior of Europe, which converge in the small village of Ostabat, a few kilometres from Saint Jean Pied de Port.
