Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Cagliari Elmas airport & acoommodation in Cagliari

Relax a bit before the journey starts next day.

Day 2The coastal Sulcis Iglesiente: Is placed on the southwest coast of the island and is the most ancient territory of Europe (Iglesias, Nebida, Masua). Medium difficulty

The cliffs are vast and extend for many miles between Gonnesa and Buggerru and then descend towards San Nicolo and Porto Portixeddu. Along the coast it is possible to admire the tops of the rocks and the stacks and sheer cliffs ending in the sea. A hard and lonely territory
with a very low number of inhabitants because in the past it was a place of intensive mining of mineral stones. Visiting these unique places besides the natural and geological importance (stratification and fossilized, rich formations in extinct organisms of the Cambrian Age), one can realize that the fascination of the area are the rest of the old, abandoned mines.
