Walking Holiday in Corsica

Corsica, a small island of 184 km from North to South, benefits from a preserved natural environment: steep mountains, maquis in flower, wild coves and nature reserves, ideal for hiking.
No doubt, the island of beauty is aptly named, and it is an ideal destination in France for hiking, accompanied or in freedom, with family or friends.

What to pack

  • Unless you are a passionate photographer, leave your bulky camera at home. Most smartphones take excellent pictures. Plus, you won’t have many chances to recharge a camera battery.
  • Only pack clothes that you absolutely need. Two shirts will be plenty, as you can rinse them out and dry them in the sun quite easily.
  • Bring trekking poles. They are invaluable on many of the steeper sections.
  • Either hiking boots or trail runners will work, just make sure they are comfortable and supportive. They should be broken in a little, but otherwise fairly new (the gnarly GR20 trail conditions put a lot of wear and tear on shoes).
What to Expect

The toughest trek in Europe” “One of the top trails in the world” “More rock climbing than hiking” “Unimaginably rugged mountains” The reputation of the GR20 is well established, emblematic and exceptional, it has even gone beyond our borders. It is an altitude trail that crosses Corsica from south-east to north-west over 180 kilometers. It follows the watershed as faithfully as possible, sometimes cutting its way through slender peaks or over sharp ridges. It also takes the paths used by men since the dawn of time.
With so many legendary stories surrounding it, what can we say about the GR20 that hasn’t been said already? We’re here to tell you that the legends are legit. The GR20 is all of those things and more. If you’re a passionate hiker, consider this trek to be your piece de resistance
