Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. The last 100 km of the Camino.

We begin the route ascending towards the Serra de Ligonde where we climb up to 725 meters. On this day, the green landscapes will be mixed with some asphalted areas and we begin to see the famous “cruises”. The villages of Castromaior, Ventas de Narón and Ligonde stand out. We enter the province of A Coruña. We leave Palas through Campo dos Romeiros, a traditional pilgrim meeting place, to enter lush eucalyptus forests and medieval bridges through beautiful villages such as Furelos, Boente and Castañeda. This stage is harder due to the distance, so it is advisable to make a stop in Melide and take the opportunity to eat the famous “octopus a feira”, tofinally reach Arzua, famous cheese town. Strange sensations. It is the last stage. We recommend leaving early to attend the pilgrim’s mass that is celebrated at 12:00 hours. First we arrive at Lavacolla and continue to climb Monte do Gozo, where we can see, from afar, the first glimpse of the coveted Cathedral.
